If websites could grow cobwebs, this one would be littered start to finish with them. Thankfully, this blog isn't a child, so there's plenty of time for do-overs without sending some innocent into therapy for their entire adult life. I was actually giving my blog-neglect quite a bit of thought lately.
I have A.D.D. (No really, I do. No joke.) I am completely enamored with things that give me instant gratification. In the land of the interwebs and social media those things include Facebook and my very, VERY favorite, Instagram. They are micro-blogging at it's finest. Little snippets and tidbits of people's lives, often with pictures, and none of that pesky extensive reading.
I've been on Instagram very nearly since it began in 2010, joined Facebook a short while before that and they ruined me for blogging for the reasons stated above. I am impatient and get bored easy and these two buggers give me a quick fix for my writing bug. However, the honeymoon period (and it was a long one) is starting to come to an end.
As companies buy out companies and policies are reworked and updated, so much has changed in these two communities that I find myself disgruntled and maybe even a little jaded. The thrill is almost gone. I favor Instagram over Facebook these days because of my love of photography. I can't see myself ever totally giving up Instagram, but dropping Facebook is becoming more and more appealing.
Anyway, all of this is to say that I hope to give a concerted effort to reigniting this ol' blog and start writing and sharing more extensively again. We've been in Las Vegas for almost three years now and I really haven't shared much of our life here. I definitely have a lot to tell about that and of course Naomi's ongoing adventures.
So, we shall see how this goes.
